Brooke is 2

Well, Brooke turned two this past Saturday. We had her party at my mom and dad's house. It was a beautiful day. I think Brooke and everyone else had a great time. She certainly was tired when we came home.
I thought we may need to postpone her party because my mom was admitted to the hospital on Thursday because of chest pains and tingling down her arm. The dr. admitted her for a few reasons. She was having chest pains for 4 weeks, we have a very strong family history of heart problems and she wanted a stress test done quicker. The stress test showed that she has a leaky valve but nothing to worry about at this time. Everything else so far has checked out and that it may be muscle related or acid reflux. Mom is still having chest pains and just doesn't feel well. She will go back in two weeks and hopefully we will have more answers.
That is all to report for now. Hope everyone is enjoying the wonderful weather.

Relaxed

Hey everyone
I think we finally have a post that isn't about one of the kids being sick. YEAH!!! Brooke is running fever but she is getting her 2 yr molars so I really think that is what it is.
Well, we registered our baby for preschool this week. That was exciting but sad at the same time. Alli is really excited and I know it will be a good thing for her, mommy just isn't ready to start school yet. Truth be told, I don't think daddy is ready yet either. He won't say that though.
Brooke turns 2 on the 21st so we are gearing up for her big b-day party and her 2 year pictures. She is getting a big girl room for her birthday. I think she is ready to get out of the crib now. Is mommy ready for that? Ask me in a couple weeks when I can't get either girl to stay in bed.
Mike is up at French Lick for a school. He is learning about finding narcotics in vehicles in place that you would never think to look. I was able to go up there for a night and day. It was so nice. He is staying at the Springs resort. I was able to sleep in and have the day all to myself. It was nice. I went to the gym, went to West Baden Hotel, and walked around our hotel and looked at everything. We checked out the casino last night. We are not big gamblers so I think we spent $5 each on slots and said we were done. It was a very nice time. Mike has one more day up there and then will be back.
All in all I think it has been pretty good here since my last post.

Talk to you soon

And the hits just keep on coming

Well, since my last post we have made two more trips to the dr. Alli is still running a high fever and now Brooke started with the high fevers yesterday. At first the dr thought Alli had some sort of bacteria in her blood causing the fever and said it would be gone in a few days. Well, that afternoon Alli got a bit worse and that is when Brooke woke up with 104 temp. I called the dr back, of course they were getting ready to close so the rat race began. They sent us to Deaconess to get blood work done. The labs came back normal. So now I am being told that my two little girls have a virus that will work its way out in a few days or so. In the meantime I am supposed to keep pumping them full of medicine and keep calling everyday with updates. Alli's fever did break and drop to 101 so that is a start in the right direction.

On a more positive note, Brooke's MRSA does appear to be completely gone and our bathroom is almost complete.

I am hoping by my next post all the sickness will be gone. keep your fingers crossed.

We can leave the house again--Kind of anyway

Well, since my last post, Brooke has done so well. We spent last week at home on isolation. Boy were we stir crazy. I don't think there was anything left to clean in my house. Well, that was until the weekend. Anyway, Brooke is now allowed to leave the house with some caution. We really still need to be careful as to where we take her and who she is around. Her immune system is still in need of tender lovin care.
My house became a huge mess again by the weekend due to some demo on the bathroom. We put up new shower walls that turned into a bigger project than expected. We found that the drywall behind the shell had to be replaced due to mold so that may be some indication as to why my girls are getting sick all the time. Anyway, the bathroom is almost done so when it is I will put up some pictures. We ended up getting new fixtures, and all new accessories. I have to paint this week so the project is not complete just yet.
While doing this project this weekend, my daughter Alli began running fever. It started out at 102 and then by Sunday had jumped to 103. I was on the phone with the after hours as Mike was checking her temp again and it had jumped up to 106.2. As you can imagine I was freaking out because in my opinion that is way too high. The nurse told me that it was normal and to give her Motrin and a cool bath. Well, I didn't have a tub to put her in so my wonderful in-laws let me come out and take over their house for a little bit. I called our dr this morning and he was not very happy that she was not seen but said that it is probably a 48 hr viral infection. Her fever is down to 101 today.
I will be ready for all the sickness to go away.
Talk to you soon.
